When I began working with developmentally disabled children and adults in about 1994, I thought that the companies that I worked for, as well as the county and state agencies that regulated them, really cared for them and their welfare.
It wasn't long before I realized that the company owners I worked for viewed these retarded people as 'money machines' and a way that companies could increase the 'bottom line' of there their companies, allow them to live in big, expensive houses and drive fancy cars.
Most of the employees of the state and county regulatory agencies also viewed these poor, retarded people as a source of 'job security' for their taxpayer funded agencies.
In the May 18, 2007 edition of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune their headline reads
"FAIR ISAAC SAYS ITS NEW FICO IS MORE ACCURATE"
In the United States, a credit score is a number typically between 300 and 850, based on a statistical analysis of a person's credit files, to represent the creditworthiness of that person, which is the likelihood that the person will pay his or her bills. A credit score is primarily based on credit report information, typically from the three major credit bureaus.
Lenders, such as banks and credit card companies, use credit scores to evaluate the potential risk posed by lending money to consumers and to mitigate losses due to bad debt. Lenders use credit scores to determine who qualifies for a loan, at what interest rate, and what credit limits.
Fair Isaac Corp., the Minneapolis-based company that routinely maintains inaccurate information about your 'behavior' when it comes to how (according to them) you'll paying your debts, announced that it is 'tweaking' the scoring system they use. This 'tweaking', according Fair Isaac Corp. 'will improve the accuracy of scores by 5 to 15 percent'.
The question that begs to be asked here is what is wrong with a society that has tolerated a company that knowingly maintains, and now, readily admits, that its 'scoring system' to determine our 'creditworthiness' is flawed and subsequent information that it maintains on us isn't correct?
IS ANYBODY LISTENING ??
And then, when Fair Isaac announces that its going to 'improve' their accuracy by 5 to 15 percent, people think that STILL ALRIGHT?
What about increasing their 'accuracy' to 100% ?? Now we're talkin' !!
I called WASTE MANAGEMENT on May 7, 2007 and ordered their garbage service for our new home. They stated they would drop off the trash & recycling containers the next day. They never did. When I called two days later to inquire where they were, I was told that they had been delivered. They had not.
The person that I spoke with didn't seem to care one bit what happened to them. They finally showed up ONE WEEK LATER. But, our first garbage pickup wasn't done because we didn't have any of their containers.
Also, when I ordered our new phone service from EMBARQ, they gave us an old telephone number (952) 467-2999 that was formerly used by WASTE MANAGEMENT. Judging from the number of calls I received from customers calling their old number, I'm not the only person who's NOT IMPRESSED with their 'Customer Service' !
Needless to say, it was quite 'the experience' driving up and down the streets and alleys of our new town seeing our new, private, unlisted telephone number plastered on every garbage can in town !!
NICE GOIN' EMBARQ !!

Symantec's latest Internet Security Threat Report, which covers the last half of 2007, is scarier than any summer movie.
While malware used to be aimed at affecting a user's computer, the report says, now it's aimed at stealthily collecting the user's information.

Normally, I never check my McDonald's receipt. Except for today. I don't know about other McDonalds, but today I 'caught' the one in Norwood/Young America (Minn.) charging an 'EAT IN TAX' tax if you eat your food there or a 'EAT OUT TAX' if you get your order to go!!
CHECK YOUR NEXT RECEIPT !!
P.S. I wonder who gets the money from these additional 'Eat In' & 'Eat Out' taxes.
The state? The City of Norwood/Young America?
Maybe Ronald ?
